Three Lakes Foundation Welcomes Bridget Burke as Associate Director
CHICAGO, September 15, 2020 — Three Lakes Foundation (TLF), a nonprofit organization that serves as a catalyst for uniting researchers, industries and philanthropy to transform how pulmonary fibrosis (PF) is diagnosed and treated, announced the hiring of Bridget Burke as associate director. Burke brings more than 13 years of high-impact program development, leadership and strategy experience.
Burke will oversee the execution of the organization’s strategic plan. She will be responsible for engaging and aligning key stakeholders in medical and patient communities, implementing innovative programs that bring PF to the forefront and supporting the organization’s mission.
Prior to Three Lakes Foundation, Burke worked her way up the ranks at Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC), operator of Blue Cross Blue Shield Plans in Illinois, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. Before driving the company vision as director of public affairs, she served in a number of other support roles that were instrumental to increasing HCSC’s brand visibility and employee engagement.

Under Burke’s leadership, HCSC was recognized for a number of awards, including being named in the Honoree List for the Civic 50 and the World’s Most Ethical Companies for five consecutive years. Additionally, Burke managed a multi-million-dollar investment and partnership portfolio that delivered more than $24 million in health and wellness services to underserved communities over her tenure.
A marquee partnership Burke cultivated and lead focused on Improving the quality of treatment and health outcomes for patients with asthma, leading to significant reductions in avoidable emergency visits and improved quality of life for those impacted.
